THE LORD JESUS MADE IT HAPPEN
The other day I walked into a new eye doctor’s office
with a heavy heart.
Earlier this year, I went to my eye doctor to get my
prescription changed so I could see better. After looking at the test results,
the doctor came into the room and gruffly blurted out in disgust, “I can’t
change anything on your glasses to make you see better! You need to go right
away to get cataract surgery on both eyes! They’ll give you the information up
front.” And he walked out! I was shocked, but I followed his instructions and went
to the surgery place. It was horrible.
The doctor didn’t even have his own place to do the
surgery, and he only gave me choices that would cost me thousands of dollars
out of pocket. They wanted me to sign a paper by the next day giving them my
choice of operations, authorizing six more appointments, and in small letters
saying that I would also possibly have to pay something for the use of the
facility and additional costs for anesthesia.
I was horrified and went to the Lord. I told Jesus I
didn’t want to get any surgery, and I wanted him to heal my eyes and break off
those cataracts. After I prayed, I knew in my heart that it wasn’t going to be
an instantaneous healing miracle, but I did know that it would happen. The Lord
is our Healer, and I trust Him at His Word. So I continued to pray daily,
believing he would take those cataracts off, but I didn’t really feel any big
difference, and that was okay because I knew it would be done one day.
Well, I need to get my Driver’s License by my birthday in
December, and they make you do an eye test. Four years ago, I missed one of the
letters, so I was getting a little nervous about the test this year, so I asked
a friend about her eye doctor and she only had great things to say about her
doctor, so I made the appointment.
I was honest with her and told her why I wanted to ask if
she could possibly adjust my prescription that the other doctor said he
couldn’t do. I wanted to see the best I could to pass the test. Her assistant
did all the regular tests, and then the doctor came in to talk to me and do a
few more tests. When she finished, she walked out of the room and said she’d be
back in a few minutes.
When she came back into the room, she told me that not only was she able to change my prescription so I’ll see better, but also the cataracts are so minimal that I don’t even need to have the surgery. AND THEN she handed me a paper with DMV typed at the top. She said, “You just passed the DMV test! Just take this with you, and you don’t even need to take the eye test at all. This is your proof.” I told her I felt like hugging her right there, but I would refrain. But then I broke down and started crying and thanking her over and over and thanking the Lord right out loud too with my hands raised in the air, and crying tears of joy until she had to give me more tissues.
Then I did hug her and thanked her some more and went out to the front to get fitted for my new glasses. When that was done, as I was about to leave, I passed the assistant, who asked me how it went, and I started crying all over again and telling her what the Lord Jesus had done. She and another girl with her were so happy for me and handed me more tissues to take with me as I walked out the door!
Our Lord is sooooo gooood!! Praise the Lord! He is so
good and merciful to His people, and He takes such good care of us. My heart is
so full. He had this all ready for me – everything!! Hallelujah!!
Love, Carolyn
