Just a few snippets from the intro. to the book we’ll be
studying on a Zoom call starting tonight: BREAKING CHAINS OF DARKNESS.
“We have an adversary who hates the gospel, hates the
presence of the church, works around the clock to discredit the message of Jesus
Christ and has a systematic plan to attack every believer. “
“The purpose for the development of this manual are to
(1) educate the Body of Christ regarding the ministry of deliverance and
spiritual warfare; and to (2) train those who desire to be used of God to set their
brethren free from the torment of demonic spirits.”
“It becomes obvious when a believer wants to continue in
their spiritual growth and realizes that every hindrance to their spiritual
growth must be eliminated.”
“One important thing to remember is that needing
deliverance is not just about what you did, but what the enemy has done to you.
The need for deliverance is not something that should make you feel guilty but
rather you should view it as an opportunity for freedom. Not only does
deliverance bring emotional and spiritual healing and the freedom from
tormenting spirits like rejection, bitterness, and anger, but it is often
necessary for physical healing, as was seen in Jesus’ ministry. When we pray
for someone and they are not healed, it is possible that they need deliverance
from a demonic spirit that is causing the illness. When the spirit is gone then
you can pray for the healing.”
“As you continue this study you will realize that the
ministry of deliverance is not a complicated or frightening ministry. Rather It
is a ministry initiated and set in the church by Jesus Himself to ‘set the
captives free’ from demonic spirits that negatively influence their lives.”
