YOU'RE BLEEDING

YOU’RE BLEEDING

My big ginger tabby, Tommy, couldn’t pee, and the last time I tried to find a reasonably priced vet, I called three places and they all said that I would have to first pay between $300 and $400 for shots before the vet could even look at him! I couldn’t afford it, and Tommy needed immediate help. We prayed for him and claimed his healing, and he did get better, but not totally healed. I was still worried, and it kept twisting into my soul like a corkscrew into a cork. I had to get it out.

I told my best friend Jane how twisted up I was getting. She listened and helped me to see things in a different perspective. Her words and actions helped me to get my thoughts clear again and focus on God’s blessing. The Lord gave her the wisdom right away and told her who to call. She did it, and Tommy got to see a vet right away, no shots required. He got a small surgery and everything he needed for less than $100. Thank you, Lord, and thank you, Jane!

We all encounter rough patches in our thinking. Some preachers like to indicate that it won't happen if we do "the right things," but I don’t believe that. And I don’t see it documented in the scriptures either. The Bible is full of people who overcome problems, not people living perfect spiritual lives without any problems.

Life happens, and we can't stop everything the devil throws at us before it hits our personal space, penetrates, and sometimes causes us to bleed.

We have the Lord Jesus Christ; we have the Bible; we have angels, but sometimes we forget that we have each other. And it’s not a sin to ask for help. In fact, the Lord tells us in James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, that ye may be healed.”

It doesn’t do us any good to keep things bottled up inside. If you were physically bleeding from an area of your body that you couldn’t reach, you’d find someone to put a compress on that area to stop the bleeding. It’s the same with us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We have been given other people in the body of Christ to help stop the bleeding.

One of the biggest errors I see is that we often hesitate to ask. Pride gets in the way. Asking for help is sometimes hard, but we have to remember that not only does it help us to get our answer, but it also gives someone else in the body of Christ a chance to do some Godly problem-solving. It’s really a very healthy exchange, if taken in the right light.

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another” (Eph. 4:25). I love that this verse uses the word “of,” meaning we are connected! We are part of a larger body. Truth and health is meant to abide in the whole body.

Honesty in the body of Christ and asking for help when we need it will make our bonds tighter and our overall health and strength increase.

A MAN STANDS UP FOR TRUTH

A MAN STANDS UP FOR THE TRUTH

In reading the book of Exodus, I came to the part where God is preparing Moses to bring His people out of Egypt. God told Moses: “Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments” (Exod. 7:4).

We know that these judgments included plagues of frogs, lice, flies, and eventually death to the firstborn. But what does the word “judgments” really mean in the original language? I looked it up in Strong’s Concordance. It comes from the Hebrew word “shephet,” which means “a sentence, infliction, punishment.”

Then the Lord inspired me to scroll down on the same Strong’s Concordance page where it shows other places in the Bible where this word is used, and my eyes bugged out!

Proverbs 19:29: “Judgments are prepared for scorners.” And I immediately thought of the death of Charlie Kirk.

He was mocked and scorned in life, and people actually celebrated and rejoiced over his being murdered!

If anyone thinks the Bible doesn’t relate to the world we live in today, think again! GOD IS HERE. We have already begun to see His judgments on the scorners. Repent and be turned back to God through His son Jesus Christ.

special message for 20&30yr old Christians along with Preach ltr: WHEN THINGS DON'T TURN OUT HOW WE WANT THEM TO

Before I share my Preach Letter, I want to say to you Christian believers in your 20s and early 30s, you make me happy, and I’m so impressed by you and so thankful for your strength in the Lord. You are a generation of good conscience, ethical morality, and respect. You are not afraid to stand up for true Godly ways, and you really give the world a new hope. I love you and pray for you. (from a fellow Christian in her 70s). Thank you!

WHEN THINGS DON’T TURN OUT HOW WE WANT THEM TO

It was December, and the rules of the contest were that if you completed your year-long goal, you had a chance at winning the money. I got an e-mail the night before, and I was a little nervous: “Were you able to complete your goal?” (They remembered me. That’s a good sign, right?) I shot back: “Yes, I did.” The next day was the meeting, and when they came to the contest part, I was piqued.

But as hard as I had tried to see a positive picture of me winning, it just wasn’t happening. As the negative thoughts kept popping up, I’d force them away, and I quoted victory scriptures instead. The announcer walked up to the microphone, “Okay, we have two people who completed the challenge. The winner gets $40 and free meetings all year long.” It wasn’t so much about the money as it was about winning something for my hard work and achievement. “Oh good, only two of us,” I thought. But when she drew the name out, it wasn’t mine! “OH NOOO! What happened?!”

All that positive praying and I just couldn’t make the outcome be what I wanted. The truth is, I really knew it in my heart, but I didn’t want to believe it. In this minor experience, I was reminded of a much larger truth.

Sometimes the Lord’s messages to us are going to seem negative and not what we want to hear. Instead of trying to force the positive result with scriptures, if they aren’t doing anything, then we need to stop pushing and just ask the Lord: “What’s going on?”

God, and Jesus too, expect us to have that kind of relationship with them. I was trying to muscle through with my own will, but it wasn’t to be. Next time this happens, I’m going to be more sensitive to the situation and just ask, and save myself some grief.

My incident was small, but Ezekiel tells of a much graver situation. The prophets didn’t like the messages God was giving about war coming. They decided to enforce their own will and preached peace instead.

God said: “I will destroy you for these visions and lies. My hand shall be against you, and you shall be cut off from among the leaders of Israel; I will blot out your names, and you will never see your own country again. And you shall know I am the Lord.  For these evil men deceive my people by saying, ‘God will send peace,’ when that is not my plan at all!” (Ezek. 13:8-10)

When we pray about anything or anyone, we go for the best, and that’s a good thing. But if, in our Spirit, we sense it’s honestly not to be, let’s remember to stop and ask the Lord what’s up. He’ll let us know.

Honest raw truth from the Lord is better than even the slightest bit of “positive thinking” that is not true. The sooner we accept the “negative” message from the Lord, the sooner we can deal with it and move through it.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies” (Ps. 23:4-5a).

If God needs to tell us negative things, He will do it, but He also leads us through it, no matter what, and we “will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever” (Ps. 23:6).

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

My mom passed away a few years ago. In 1 Corinthians 15:55, God tells Christians to consider the question: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” The answer is that for Christians who take their last breath on earth, death no longer has a sting, and the grave has no victory either. We pass from one life to another, a life that is wonderful and everlasting. But when a pivotal person passes away, those of us who are left are sometimes forced to answer a different question: “Where do we go from here?” Everything is different now and it's kind of scary and empty feeling.

My mom’s passing was the end of an era: No dad and mom anymore, no more Christmases like before, no more laughing at silly cards, no more talking about the deer and birds we saw out her big picture window. Certain traditions stopped suddenly, and I asked myself: “What now?”  I realize many of you have experienced this feeling and you’ve gotten through it. People have lost husbands, wives, children, siblings, parents, and best friends. People have lost their countries altogether. I never knew how many things change as a result of certain losses. And I definitely feel like I have gained more empathy for those who have experienced great loss.

Some losses are less painful, and then there are those that hit deeper, and the changes are not gentle, but radical. I felt like I was stuck in a bit of an empty space. What am I going to do? This feels kind of lonely and weird. But I had choices.

I could either stay in a quandary and just let life happen, or I could change the “empty” to “opportunity.” I chose opportunity. It’s kind of like a rebirth. I could discover new things and make new traditions, but never without the guidance of my Lord would I ever even attempt such things. I had to let God guide me to the next thing, which at that moment, well, I had no idea what that might be.

This new frame of mind made me think of Abraham when God told him to take off to a place he didn’t know.

Genesis 12:1-2 says: “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, ‘Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.’”

At the time, God didn’t even tell Abraham where He planned for him to go. It was less about the physical destination, and way more about the spiritual relationship, daily destined to pay attention to the Lord’s leading. Abraham’s physical destination didn’t matter nearly as much as his destiny to daily dwell in the presence of God. That is our ultimate destination and destiny as well.

Hebrews 11:8 reiterates: “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”

Psalm 91:1-2 gives me inspiration: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

My mom loved God; she loved the Bible; she loved adventure; and she loved new things. Her passing not only opened a new life for her, but it opened new things in life for me, too. I now have more compassion for those who have lost pivotal people in their lives. I stick closer to God and to the Lord Jesus, living more by faith.

We obey the Lord like Abraham did, making new traditions, but always determined to be flexible to the Lord’s nudgings. We remember to live for God first.

Where do we go from here? I don’t know, but I do know we have the absolute best guide.
