IT'S IN THE BIBLE - MOLECH TODAY

IT’S IN THE BIBLE – MOLECH TODAY

The evil god, Molech (Moloch), required child sacrifice from those who worshipped him. In Old Testament times, cultures all around God’s people worshipped Molech, and so did some of the Israelites surrender their children to his fiery arms. God said don’t do this: “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech” (Lev. 18:21). Child sacrifice, including killing a child before birth, is not justified in the Bible. God’s Word says children are a blessing, but our actions say we don’t believe it. We’ve come up with all kinds of “reasonable” rebuttals as to why we aren’t carrying out God’s will concerning children.

The media and society have duped Christians and non-Christians alike into believing various acceptable answers to why abortions are justified. Some of the reasons we’ve accepted are: “I’m not ready to be a mother,” “I’m not ready to have a family,” “I’m not sure I even love this person,” “I can’t afford to have a child right now,” “It’s just a part of my body and not really a child anyway,” and so many other answers that sounded so right. But we have been cleverly manipulated away from God’s truth and tricked by the spirit of Molech.

I don’t blame the people who let themselves get talked into abortions, but I do blame those who did the subversive manipulation and those who let it slide. We need to repent.

Take, for instance, the adage of the women’s movement that says a woman’s body is her own and she has the right to choose whether or not she aborts a child growing within her. Yes, God gave every person the right to choose, but it’s not wise to go changing the Bible to fit our contemporary thinking. Instead, we need to change our contemporary thinking to what the Bible says.

God’s intent is that men and women who marry are making a life commitment to become one with each other. After making that commitment, they consummate the marriage with intercourse which often produces a child. A wife has no more authority over that child than the husband. They are joined together in conception, as the man’s sperm finds the woman’s egg, and the miracle of the couple’s shared love begins to grow within the woman’s womb. That was God’s plan because He knew what would be best for His precious human beings. Just because it doesn’t work that way in our cultures doesn’t mean we can change the rules. When we replace God’s decrees with our own canons, we get into a mess every time.

Abortion is just one aspect of child sacrifice to the devil. We’ve seen virgin sacrifices throughout history in Mesopotamia, Africa, Mayan, and Inca cultures. It is practiced today throughout the world, including Europe, the United States, and perhaps most countries of the world, as the human trafficking tunnels circulate the globe.

In 2018 in Arkansas, a sculpture of the Ten Commandments was destroyed and replaced with a statue of Molech. Molech’s image is a hollow brazen figure, with the head of an ox with big horns and outstretched human arms. It was heated red-hot by fire from within, and the little ones were placed in its arms to be slowly burned, while to prevent their parents from hearing their dying cries, the sacrificing priests beat drums.

Molech was the god of the Ammonites and Phoenicians. This same god was known as Saturn in Carthage, founded in the 9th century BC by the Phoenician city of Tyre. Carthage is in Tunisia (just across from Italy). Both the god, Molech, and the god, Saturn, represented the planet Saturn. The Phoenician-Semitic nations referred to their god Molech or Saturn as a kakodaimonos (evil spirit) to be appeased by human sacrifice. This child sacrificing practice was carried over into Italy and to Rome.

(Suppose you want to know more about the practices centering around Molech and the history. In that case, there is an excellent source: a free book online by Charles Rollin called The Ancient History of The Egyptians, Carthaginians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Medes And Persians, Macedonians And Grecians.)

In Leviticus, where it says not to let any child pass through the fire to Molech, it also says: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion” (Lev. 18:22-23).

And what does God say is the result of these actions: “The land is defiled and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants” (v.25). People just want to be loved and do the right things, but we’ve been tricked into doing unnatural things, by demons and demon-inspired, and demon-possessed people. In 2 Chronicles 33:1, God tells us that Hezekiah’s son “did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.” “And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom [Molech worship]: also he. . . used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger” (v. 6).

Sorry Disney lovers, it’s not okay to speak lightly about using magic wands and speaking special “magical” phrases, not even in jest. Your brain doesn’t know the difference, and your words will bring the opposite of what you want into your house and life. It may be a little more work, but it’s God’s will for us to speak of His miraculous doings. There are plenty of those in the Bible. We need to bring them into our everyday speaking.

Hosea 4:6 tells us: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Well, now we know, so we can repent of the things we’ve let our mouths utter, and we can consciously change them.

In Jeremiah 7:31, we see that good people again turned away from simply following God’s ways. They “have built the high places in the valley of Hinnom, to burn their sons and daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not.” The next few chapters go on to say what the result was, and again, the land suffered, the animals and vegetation suffered.

“How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? The beasts are consumed, and the birds;

“Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate because no man layeth it to heart” (Jer. 12:4,10-11).

The sacrifice of human unborns, babies, children, and adults is A BIG DEAL! People are horrified by what’s happening on the earth to animals, trees, the weather, and other humans.

The sacrifice of so many children sends the message of death to every living creation on earth, under the earth, and in the sea. If humans are willing to sacrifice our own progeny, then how can the rest of creation respond? All creation on earth is under the care of us humans. “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men” (Ps. 115:16).

We need to repent for what we’ve done and what we’ve allowed. Let’s admit to the Lord that we were thinking wrong and now we are truly sorry for it. God forgives ALL our sins, including murder, and He is willing to give us a new start. And He will heal our land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

We need to take a close look at what we’ve done and what we’ve supported because those pushing these things and keeping supporting them are bowing to the modern-day Molech. Molech is a horrible demon with a voracious appetite for the innocent young ones. Remember, the devil hates humans because God loves them. God made humans His priority, even over all the angels, Lucifer, and the other evil spirits included. Lucifer was furious over this decision and has been trying to kill as many humans as possible ever since, in as many ways as he could get away with.

Let’s take a stand against this evil power, fight it, and take it down. Let’s support new families and do what we can, including prayer for our children's protection, health, and education.

Love, Carolyn

MOTHERS ARE A BLESSING FROM GOD

MOTHERS ARE AN AMAZING GIFT FROM GOD

If it weren’t for my mom praying for me, I probably wouldn’t have made it this far. She told me that when I was little, I once followed a dog down the street, and she had to call the police to help find me. Then another time, I drank a bottle of her perfume, and she had to rush me to the hospital. When I was older, I put my mom through even more drama. I remember a time when I was freaking out on LSD in an old downtown building in Chicago, and my mom drove her VW Beetle forty miles in an ice storm to get me. My mom always was big on prayer and trusting God.

I want to relate another story about a mother who trusted God. Her name is Hagar. We find her story in Genesis 16, 20, and 21. Abraham was married to Sarah, and Hagar was Sarah’s maid. When Sarah couldn’t conceive, she came up with the idea that if Abraham could impregnate Hagar, somehow, the child would be considered hers. I don’t get it, but that’s what they decided, and it caused significant problems. As soon as Hagar got pregnant, Sarah was jealous and outraged and treated Hagar horribly. Hagar fled, but on God’s urging, she went back and submitted herself to Sarah’s domination. Relationships may have improved slightly, but there was still bitterness and strife in the household.

Abraham’s entourage traveled through the deserts together as a group for the next thirteen years. By this time, Sarah had conceived and given birth to Isaac. All of them lived together in the same group of tents: Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Hagar, and Ishmael. (Do we really think our “complicated” family dynamics are so modern?) As we’d expect, there was more drama brewing.

One day when Ishmael was fourteen, Sarah overheard him making fun of her son Isaac. It must have been the last straw because she threw him and his mother out. Hagar was devastated. Back then, if you were thrown out, it wasn’t like you could just go to stay with a friend. These people were nomads. They lived in a tent city, traveling from place to place according to the water supply. There was a harsh desert all around them. So when Sarah threw them out, they had to find a way to survive in the wilderness, or they’d die. Abraham was able to sneak them one bottle of water and some bread, but when that was gone, life was over. Hagar wandered in the desert, desperately looking for help. But a person can only last about three days without water, and there were two of them. They’d come to the end.

“When the water was gone, she left the youth in the shade of a bush and went off and sat down a hundred yards or so away. ‘I don’t want to watch him die,’ she said, and burst into tears, sobbing wildly.

“Then God heard the boy crying, and the Angel of God called to Hagar from the sky, ‘Hagar, what’s wrong? Don’t be afraid! For God has heard the lad’s cries as he is lying there. Go and get him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants.’

“Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well; so she refilled the canteen and gave the lad a drink. And God blessed the boy, and he grew up” (Gen. 21:15-20).

Hagar knew God. She prayed to Him and cried out to Him. She taught her son to do likewise. God “heard the lad’s cries” and saved them both. To mothers, this should be a great comfort. When you’ve done your best, you don’t have to be afraid that you haven’t done enough. God thinks you have, and He will be there to step in directly for your children when you can’t. GOD IS THERE FOR THEM. Never stop praying for them.

I believe God has given special abilities to mothers, beyond what most people even understand. And too often, we don’t acknowledge the depth of extra strength, endurance, and love that mothers have for their children.

Mothers desperately need the wisdom of God in raising children. When is it a good thing to keep secrets, for instance?  When Jesus was born, the angels came to the shepherds and told them that the Messiah had come. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child (Luke 2:11, 17).

The shepherds told everyone, and the Bible tells us: “And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. The people “wondered” but what did Jesus’ mother do? “Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart” (Luke 2:19). Mary didn’t wonder, she “pondered.” The upbringing of her child was a very serious matter and she prayerfully thought about every step she would take in his upbringing. It would be interesting to follow the life of Christ and look at all the scriptures that include the presence of his mother. I know of one time when she messed up by interjecting herself into a situation inappropriately and Jesus had to correct her.

Mary knew from his birth, that Jesus was the Messiah, and she knew from the scriptures what he would be capable of, but she jumped the gun as to the timing for him to really start his full ministry. She pushed him to do something before it was the right time:

“And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus saith unto her, ‘Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come’” (John 2: 1-4). It wasn’t quite time for him to start his ministry, but mom got anxious. God worked it out fine though. Remember, God looks on the heart, and we all make mistakes.

Another time when Jesus was twelve years old, it looks like mom maybe wasn’t giving him enough credit for being old enough to handle the deep things of God. We don’t know exactly it was, but this time it seems maybe that mom and dad were being what we call today “helicopter parents” i.e. over-protective. Back in those days, when the temple teachers got together to read the scriptures, they discussed the scriptures, their meanings, and applications. Jesus wanted to know more, and he stayed behind to find out stuff that he wasn’t getting from mom and dad. I feel that way about kids knowing the truth about devil spirits.

I had a conversation with a 19-year-old. He was telling me all about a video game he likes to play, describing demons and evil plans in much detail. We talked about how the things he was describing were in the Bible and that they are real. He totally agreed and was surprised that I knew about them! I have found that he and other teens are more educated about demons than many of the adults I know! These kids are learning about evil and know that it’s real, but they aren’t learning the connection to the Bible. That’s where parents come in.

Jesus sought a source outside of his family, but I don’t see why a parent couldn’t be their teacher, or both could learn together. Many adults don’t understand the evil God talks about in the Bible, but there’s no shame in that. By the time a child gets to be around 12 years old, he or she doesn’t really believe that mom and dad know everything anyway. I believe many parents would be surprised at how smart and knowledgeable a 12-year-old can be, and maybe even how willing to learn something alongside their parent. Just a thought.

Jesus’ parents didn’t seem to be paying enough attention to the hunger Jesus had for real truth. Did they make a mistake? Probably, but there’s a lesson here. The Lord is perhaps showing us what to expect and maybe what not to do.

“Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

“But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

“And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

“And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2:41-52).

It doesn’t look like Jesus was an easy child to raise, so if you are having a few problems with yours, don’t get too upset. God will protect you and them like He did with Hagar and her son. The Lord will guide you with His wisdom on child raising, and He is big on forgiveness. God knows what it takes to be a good parent and He certainly appreciates the work you’re doing.

Today I want to say to all you mothers, I recognize and applaud all of you! HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY!

Love, Carolyn

WISDOM AND HEALING

WISDOM AND HEALING

I was doing some touch-ups in the high roller rooms at a local hotel. My knee started hurting, then my thigh, then my back. I forgot to ask for wisdom from the Lord on what it was and what to do to make it disappear. I took ibuprofen and was handling it myself. The pain subsided somewhat, but it wasn’t going away. I persevered on my own for about two weeks, and it was wearing me down. I finally woke up spiritually, took it to the Lord, and asked my roommate Jane to pray for me. I went off to work like every other day. Only this day, I got the revelation of what was causing my pain and the revelation of how to get rid of it.

As I sat down on the floor to patch and touch up the baseboard and then crawled along to the next spot, I got the news flash from the Lord – I was sitting in a scrunched down position with both legs tucked under me to the side, and I was bent over. When I put my legs on the other side, and the same exact pinch happened on the other side, I realized I’d been sitting and crawling in this position for about two weeks, 7 hours a day. No wonder I was having pinches and pain. I made a conscious effort to change how I positioned myself, and the pain dissipated and went away.

A similar thing happened another time, with my hands. I was feeling pain in some of the joints on my fingers. I thought, “Oh no, am I getting arthritis?” I would exercise them after work and in the morning, but the pain continued. I prayed, but my hands didn’t get better. Why not?

There is one super vital thing we must do at the beginning of any prayer: ask for the Lord’s wisdom in the situation. I just bolted for the healing, but the Lord heals and delivers in various ways, so it’s important to get His wisdom first in any healing situation. I was praying “amiss” like it says in James 4:3: Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss.” If I had asked the Lord first for wisdom, He would have given me the answer.

And many months later, even after the project was long gone, when I still had pain, God told me that the source of my pain was the project I was working on, where I was handling hundreds of thin metal pieces, flipping them back and forth to paint both sides. It was crimping my fingers. I had initially thought of this, but when the pain lasted for several months after the project, I sunk back into thinking arthritis. Arthritis is a demon, and I sure didn’t want that! And finally, I asked God for an answer to my dilemma, and when He told me that it was just due to the project and I needed to wait only a little bit longer, it was only days before the pain totally disappeared.

Just because we don’t get an instant miracle of healing doesn’t mean God’s not going to heal us. He’s given us many ways to get pain-free and healed up and delivered.

God designed our bodies to heal themselves. And if we take care of our bodies, natural healing comes faster.

Also, I’ve learned that certain sicknesses and diseases and demons need specific environments to thrive in, so changing our body’s territory on the inside will cause the disease to die or the destructive evil spirit to leave.

There’s much to learn about healing, but whenever we get sick, we should first take it to the Lord in prayer and ask for His wisdom. You can ask Him, “Should I go to the doctor? Should I ask someone to pray for me? Do I need to drink more water and take a couple of aspirin?” We can ask all these questions and more, and He will answer, as long as the vital inquiry is directed at Him, “Please give me your wisdom, Lord, what should I do?”

We ask for His wisdom on what to do to get healed. God wants us to be healthy, so He’s glad to give us His wisdom.

James 3:17 says: “The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” And James 4:2 says: “Ye have not, because ye ask not.” So we need to ask.

If we’re unsure about hearing from the Lord or what we think He answered, then we can ask a trusted Christian friend to corroborate or pray with us.

God says of Himself: “I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Ex. 15:27).

Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people” (Matt. 9:35). And Jesus lives today: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Heb. 13:8).

God’s will for us is a healthy body and a sound mind. Either could come through an instant miracle, a longer miraculous process, a doctor, a prescription, a dietary plan, or just practical common-sense wisdom like changing a position on the floor like I had to do, or waiting for a finger-pinching project to end.

God always makes a way for us to live at our best. And when we want healing, it all starts with asking for His wisdom.

RETIRED AND ON TO NEW ADVENTURES

RETIRED AND ON TO NEW ADVENTURES

No more hard hats, safety vests, or old work boots! At the end of this week, I’m officially retired! Many years ago, back in 2008, when I thought about future retirement, God gave me a picture of what it would be, and I made a quick sketch. He showed me that retirement was just what the word said, “re-tire,” as in getting new tires for a new journey. That made me smile, and I kept the simple sketch on my desk to this day! I’m excited about going forward! At first, I was a little sad about retiring, but then I realized it was just a new start. Life isn’t over; it just takes a new turn.

“This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before” (Phil. 3:13). One thing I’ve seen with the Lord is that once something is over, He forgets about it pretty much immediately and gives me a ton of new ideas and projects and things to do and pay attention to. I say to Him, “Can’t we talk about this?” And it’s like He doesn’t even hear me. He’s already over it and way out ahead of me, like the past never even happened almost! Then when I get over myself, I have to laugh, and just catch up to Him.

Jesus knows I like to belly-ache and complain sometimes, but He also knows that if He rattles off fun things for my future, I won’t stay in the past too long. I’ll be running to do the next thing. Yep, retirement is going to be better than just okay, it’s already starting to be amazing!

PROMISES KEPT

PROMISES KEPT

“What Mary found that first Easter morning was a miracle, an empty tomb, and the sweetest words ever spoken: “He is not here: for He is risen.” Mary came looking for her Lord and found hope. Where she thought she would find death, she found Life. This is why Easter means hope – because of Him, because of His promise of Life Everlasting. When Life seems empty and confusing, when the world seems dark and uncertain, when you worry and wonder how to carry on, remember the promise of Easter. Always, there is hope.” (Judy Byington)

Yesterday Jane and I were talking about the multitude who gathered for the feast of Passover when Jesus came before Pilate. Jane asked, “What about the blind man that Jesus healed? What about the woman who touched the hem of his garment? What about the lame man at the pool of Bethesda? And the boy who was delivered of demons, and the lepers? Weren’t some of them in that crowd?”

I realized, then, that the number of people in that crowd who didn’t want Jesus crucified was larger than I’d thought. And yet the demonic priests and their followers must have shouted louder and longer to do what they did:

The chief priests moved the people, that he [Pilate] should rather release Barabbas unto them.

“And Pilate answered and said again unto them, ‘What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?’

“And they cried out again, ‘Crucify him.’ Then Pilate said unto them, ‘Why, what evil hath he done?’ And they cried out the more exceedingly, ‘Crucify him’” (Mark 15: 11-14).

Jane and I talked about how horrible it must have been for Jesus’ followers that day. Jesus taught them about the true God. He opened the Old Testament scriptures to them. He healed them, delivered them from devils, and showed them the way to a better life. And now he was gone. Who would teach them? Who would heal them? Who would comfort them? Would they now be enslaved again to Roman cruelty and a life without hope? How terrifying was it for them?

We see later that even the apostles were shaken. Peter went back to fishing. What else was he supposed to do? He was devastated just like the rest of Jesus’ followers. Very few of the true believers could even remember what Jesus promised them. When the soldiers led Jesus to the cross, “there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him” (Luke 23:27). That had to be one of the most horrible days any believer has ever had to face on earth! The people were sobbing and crying, beside themselves with anguish, but they could do nothing to change it.

I know you’ve been aware of how windy, cloudy, and dark the atmosphere can get sometimes, and you know it’s not normal, but it’s a spiritual churning, a feeling of loss and devastation is in the air. Luke tells us that just before Jesus died, there was such enormous darkness over the land that even the sun was dark:

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, ‘Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit’: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. (Luke 23:44-46).

To most of the people there, all was lost. It was over.

Sometimes even today, with what we know about God and Jesus and the Bible and with all the truth we know, we still end up in a hopeless place in our minds and hearts, just like these people did over 2000 years ago. But God didn’t forget about them then, and He will never forget about us now.

Jesus rose from the dead, just like he said he would. He made an end of death for everyone who believes in him. None of us will die. We only pass over into something more beautiful and new. Like Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2b).

Because Jesus did what he did for us, we never have to fear anything at all. We always can know that Jesus squashed death. The devil has nothing he can do to take that reality away, ever!

Even when we feel like those believers on the day that Jesus was crucified, there’s the promise of God, everlasting life. It’s a life without sickness, fear, sadness, and loss. Yes, we can experience those things right now too, but there’s a day coming when EVERYTHING will be TOTALLY FULL OF HIS LIGHT and TOTALLY FULL OF HIS GOODNESS. JESUS CHRIST HAS RISEN!

DEALING WITH DEMONS WHO TRY TO BREAK THE LAWS OF GOD

DEALING WITH DEMONS WHO TRY TO BREAK THE LAWS OF GOD

So what about when we’ve resisted a demon, and it’s supposed to flee as it says in James 4:7, and we’ve rebuked it with the powerful blood and name of Jesus Christ, like in Exodus and Philippians 2:10, and the evil spirit doesn’t leave, or it comes back? There are two things that could be happening. First, it could be that there are several spirits of the same kind that have lined up to attack you one after another. If that happens, you’ll have to rebuke each one. As far as I’ve experienced, if they see that you mean business and you are going to keep at the resisting and rebuking, they will give up on you because you are way too much trouble and way too powerful for them.

The second situation is where the demon disobeys God’s spiritual laws. God set it up where demons absolutely had to bow to God first in Old Testament times - blood on the lintels, etc. When Jesus came, devil spirits had to bow to the authority in his name or his blood. When demons break these spiritual laws of God, they can be chained and sent to prison in hell before the final judgment.

Let’s look at what some demons did at the time of Noah and what God did about it:

God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment” (2 Peter 2:4).

Then in Jude 1:5-6, we see again what God did to the demons that disobeyed the rules He set in place.

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not” (Jude 1:5).

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day” (Jude 1:6).

When Jesus was crucified and buried, he went to hell and showed himself alive to the demons who were already in the prison God had for them there. We are told about this in 1 Peter 3:18-20:

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” (1 Pet. 3:18).

“By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison” (v.19).

“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water” (1 Pet. 3:20).

Early in Old Testament times, God Himself sent the disobedient spirits to be chained and imprisoned in hell. By the time of King David, God had given this privilege to all His saints, as we see in Psalm 149: 4-9.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds (Ps. 149: 4-5).

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand” (v.6).

“To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people” (v.7).

How does this vengeance take place? By binding the demons and making them subject to what God has made available.

“To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written” (Ps. 149: 8-9a).

And who is to do this?

“This honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord” (Ps. 149: 9b).

Psalm 149 gives us insight into one of the greatest weapons we have against forces of evil. Verse 6 tells us we have “a two-edged sword in our hand” to bind people’s “kings with chains, their nobles with fetters of iron” (v.8).

That’s not referring to human kings and nobles but to those principalities and powers in high places, i.e., devil spirits. We are to “execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints.”

The “two-edged sword” we see in Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” And in Ephesians 6:17 we are to “take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

The “judgment written” comes directly from the Word of God. Yes, there will be a final judgment of men and demons. But if demons are judged disobedient now, we can bind them and, in the power of the Lord Jesus, send them packing to the Hell prison spoken of in Peter and Jude. It says that if demons do not keep their first estate, but are disobedient (1 Pet. 3:19-20), they are to be delivered into chains of darkness (Jude 1:6) unto the judgment of the great day.

In other words, we can get these demons chained up in the same Hell prison where other demons have already been sent. They must remain there until the final judgment, and they can no longer influence or enter any human being or other entity on earth.

God’s given us this authority in Christ Jesus, so every time I bind disobedient demons, I do it in Jesus’ name or I bind them and bring them to Jesus’ feet, and ask the Lord to have Michael and his warring angels escort these demons to their rightful hell prison, to everlasting chains till His final judgment on them.

“Jesus Christ: who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him” (1 Pet. 3: 21b-22).

So if you have determined that the demons plaguing you are not merely multiples of the same type of demon, you’ve resisted them according to James 4:7; you’ve demanded they leave in the name of Jesus Christ like it says in Philippians 2:10; you’ve applied the blood of Jesus, which kept even the spirit of death off of the Egyptians, and none of these things worked, then you are dealing with demons who’ve chosen to be disobedient to the laws of our Almighty God and Father. These demons have just cut their own throats because now you can take them out of the sky, off the earth, and send them into prison in hell, where they will never bother anyone anymore! They will be imprisoned in “everlasting chains” until the final judgment day.

We, as the body of believers, are the spiritual watchmen in the world today — what an awesome honor, blessing, and responsibility we have.

I hope you will take the time to look up the scriptures I’ve shared about what we can do when demons don’t obey. Let’s join together to get as many devils out of here as we can.

GETTING RID OF FAMILIAR SPIRITS

GETTING RID OF FAMILIAR SPIRITS

Familiar spirits are spirits that are familiar with you. They are evil and concentrate on weaknesses in your character. Their main objective is to call in other spirits that will prey on those weaknesses. Familiar spirits are high-ranking demons in Satan's entourage. They knew your parents, your grandparents, and all your family history. They know what illnesses you may be prone to. They see how you act when you've had too many shots of Jack Daniels. They know your triggers. They know what sets you off, what makes you angry, sad, sick, and what makes you afraid. They are familiar, but they are not your friends. God has given us the truth about familiar spirits, and He's given us a way to get rid of them.

Jeremiah said: "All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, 'Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him'” (Jer. 20:10). Why revenge? Because if you are following the teaching of the Bible, then the devil hates you because he hates the true God, and he gets at God by going after God’s people.

How do the familiar spirits operate? They are like the coaches on the devil’s football team. They call certain evil spirits onto the field when they see there’s an open door. For example, when things go badly at work, they may call in spirits of dread or rejection and fear, whatever they know from the past, of things that negatively affect you.

Hypothetically they may say, “Hey, spirit of dread, come on over in the morning when he’s half asleep and lay heavy on him. He’s in the perfect frame of mind for you to really get some influence. You’re going to love it.”

Or for another person, maybe it’s hypochondria. “Hey, spirit of infirmity, Jesse is starting to see some people getting sick around him. Get a few of those people to walk by him and cough a little. I’m sure that’s just the trigger that will get Jesse to take the sickness. He’ll have the flu in a week, just like last year and every year since he was a kid.”

Familiar spirits know precisely what spirits to call into their game, to delay us, hurt us, or preferably kill us physically, or emotionally just wipe us out. They feed off our weakest mental, emotional, and physical characteristics, calling in other evil spirit players to “steal, and kill, and destroy us,” as Jesus said in John 10:10, the first part of that verse.

Just to name a few of those demons that a familiar spirit would call: cancer, arthritis, oppression, jealousy, covetousness, anger, depression, low self-esteem, addictive desires, arrogance, pride, rejection, animalistic viciousness, apathy, fear, etc. These spirits were the angels who sided with Lucifer when he turned against God and was cast out of heaven. But God had a plan for us and a way to send those spirits packing.

Many people are already aware of their weaknesses and the things that tend to plague them. But others do not recognize their own tendencies and turn to psychics for help, or for what seems just a fun thing to do. But beware.

God tells us to stay away from them: “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God” (Lev. 19:31).

Why does it seem that some psychics really can see your past or predict your future? It’s a straightforward answer: They operate by communicating with familiar spirits. When you go to a psychic, they tap into the unseen world and hear from the familiar spirits watching and influencing you and your family for a lifetime and longer. A familiar spirit that followed your sister can tell the psychic precisely what she might tell you right now if she was alive. The psychic may even be able to know the exact phrases she would use, and the psychic can even channel a similar dialect and the voice of your sister. But it’s a counterfeit.

The psychic's familiar spirit uses just enough stuff to get you to believe that the psychic knows you and can even see into your future. Then the psychic can predict something for you. But what do they predict? They now know enough from the familiar spirits to know what kind of things you’ll believe. They will say some good things, but they’ll also say maybe even tiny things to mislead you and get you to walk into Satan’s traps.

Remember, your familiar spirits are only there to bring you harm. They do whatever the devil demands of them.

When I first learned about familiar spirits being the ones who rally up the demon troops against us, I learned that the familiar spirits have been around us all our lives, so I mistakenly thought that we couldn’t get rid of them. Also, I falsely believed that we only had one. After studying the Bible, I saw that the familiar spirits are usually in groups. So if you get rid of one, beware because you may have to get rid of more.

The Lord tells us how to get rid of these evil spirits: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Phil. 2:10). And James 4:7: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Neither of these verses says that familiar spirits are excluded from the demons that must bow and flee!

If I am resisting and rebuking any spirit, and the Bible says it has to flee, then familiar spirits have to flee as well. And as I’ll show you in another preach letter, that if a spirit doesn’t obey, it’s off to chains of darkness with no “get free cards!”

I hope you’ll think about this and begin to recognize the evil spirits being summoned into your everyday life. God has given us the spiritual weapons to kick the demons out, including the high-ranking familiar spirits that keep bringing them in. Freedom is that close.

Jesus said: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Part of the more abundant life is making those familiar spirits bow to God’s Word coming out of our mouths. We are victorious!
